Notable personal detailsAlfred (Al) Lemmo is a Republican candidate for the U.S. House in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District. He is a retired mechanical engineer and longtime anti-abortion-rights activist, and has served on pro-life boards in the Detroit area. Lemmo worked for more than three decades at the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) in Warren and previously worked at Ford Motor Company and Union Carbide. He is a graduate of Union College and has completed seminars at Hillsdale College.
