Alani Bankhead won the Montana Democratic Senate primary and is now the party’s nominee in the race for the open U.S. Senate seat. She will face Republican Kurt Alme and independent Seth Bodnar in the general election, but some Montana Democrats are divided over whether she is the strongest challenger. More recently, a PAC that spent heavily to support her said it no longer believes her campaign is viable and is shifting its money out of Montana.
