News
Dan Kildee is in the news mainly because Michigan’s 2026 election landscape is shifting, with Republicans growing more pessimistic about their chances in the governor’s race and the open U.S. Senate contest. Recent reports say higher gas prices, tariffs hitting the auto industry, and a strong Democratic swing in a special election are making the state more competitive for Democrats. Michigan has also joined a lawsuit with other Democratic-led states to block President Trump’s order restricting mail-in voting and changing election procedures.
