Overview
Iowa's 2026 ballot is headlined by rare twin open seats: Governor Kim Reynolds is not seeking a third term and Senator Joni Ernst is retiring, leaving both the governorship and a US Senate seat without an incumbent in the same year for the first time since 1968. All four US House districts, the attorney general's office, and other statewide posts are also up on November 3. Iowa's partially open primary, held June 2, has already set the major matchups. This hub connects live market odds with candidate pages, polling context, official dates, and market-moving updates throughout the cycle.

Key Iowa Races to Watch in 2026
Iowa Governor Races 2026
Kim Reynolds's decision not to seek a third term makes this Iowa's first open governor's race since 2006. The June 2 primary set the matchup: businessman Zach Lahn, who narrowly cleared Iowa's 35 percent threshold, against State Auditor Rob Sand.
Iowa US Senate Races 2026
Joni Ernst's retirement leaves Iowa's Class 2 Senate seat open, with June 2 primary winners Republican Ashley Hinson and Democrat Josh Turek now the major-party nominees. One tracked market covers the separate 2028 race for Iowa's other Senate seat.
Iowa US House Races 2026
Markets track three of Iowa's four districts. IA-02 and IA-04 are open seats after Ashley Hinson's Senate bid and Randy Feenstra's run for governor, while IA-03 Republican incumbent Zach Nunn faces Democrat Sarah Trone Garriott.
Iowa Attorney General Races 2026
Republican incumbent Brenna Bird, who passed on the governor's race to seek a second term, faces Democrat Nate Willems, an attorney and former state legislator. Both were unopposed in the June 2 primaries.
