Supports reinstating a federal assault weapons ban, expanding background checks for firearm transfers, and stronger firearm safety/storage requirements; has cosponsored federal bills including an assault weapons ban, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and child-safety storage legislation. Advocates keeping firearms out of the hands of violent offenders and increasing firearm safety standards to prevent mass shootings and protect children.
