Philip Tanis has entered the race for the Republican nomination in Michigan's 4th Congressional District, challenging U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga. His campaign cleared a key ballot hurdle when state officials validated 1,331 of his 1,508 petition signatures, more than the 1,000 needed to qualify. The district is already drawing competition, with Democrats Sean McCann and Diop Harris also running.
