Gov. Ned Lamont and Josh Elliott are headed to a Democratic primary for Connecticut governor on Aug. 11. Lamont dominated the convention, but Elliott qualified for the ballot and forced a real contest. The nominee will be decided by primary voters, not the convention. Lamont still looks favored, but Elliott’s ballot access keeps the race live. The contested primary adds some uncertainty, though the latest reports do not show a clear shift away from Lamont.
