Darializa Avila Chevalier has won the NY-13 Democratic primary and is the expected nominee. The result was a major upset over Rep. Adriano Espaillat, with reports saying she led by about 3,000 votes when the race was called. Her later comments about Hakeem Jeffries add some post-primary uncertainty, but not about the nomination itself. Chevalier’s primary win appears to have largely settled the nomination market in her favor. The later Speaker comments add some noise, but they do not change the nomination result.
