Recent reporting and announcements directly related to this race and its candidates.
Denise Powell has won the Democratic nomination in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District and will face Republican Brinker Harding for the open Omaha-area House seat. Harding was unopposed in the GOP primary, and the race has already drawn heavy outside spending. The seat is open because Rep. Don Bacon is not running again. The open-seat race remains competitive, with both parties now set on the ballot. Powell's nomination gives Democrats a clear challenger, but the overall effect on odds is still mixed and uncertain.
