Alex Mealer won the Republican runoff in Texas’s 9th Congressional District and is now the party’s nominee. The seat was redrawn to favor Republicans and is expected to stay safely Republican in the general election. This likely removes most nomination uncertainty and should strongly favor Mealer in the market. The redrawn district’s GOP tilt also supports a confident Republican nominee outlook.
