Ken Calvert is ahead in the California 40th District primary as votes continue to be counted. Young Kim is currently second, with Esther Kim-Varet in third. Because California uses a top-two system, the final order still matters for November advancement. Calvert’s lead makes him look better positioned to finish first, but the race is still being counted. The top-two setup keeps uncertainty around the final order until more votes are reported.
