Overview

Washington's 2026 ballot is headlined by its US House races: all ten districts are up on November 3, including an open seat in the 4th District after Republican Dan Newhouse announced he would not seek re-election. Neither the governorship nor a US Senate seat is up this cycle — both next appear in 2028 — so contests for the state Legislature and state Supreme Court round out the slate. Every race first goes through the state's top-two primary on August 4, 2026. This hub connects live market odds with candidate pages, polling context, official dates and market-moving updates as the cycle unfolds.

When is the 2026 Washington primary election?
The 2026 Washington primary election is on Aug 4, 2026.
When is the 2026 Washington general election?
The 2026 Washington general election is on Nov 3, 2026.
What races are on the ballot in Washington in 2026?
Washington's November 3, 2026 ballot includes all ten US House districts, all 98 state House seats, about half of the 49-member state Senate, multiple state Supreme Court and Court of Appeals positions, statewide ballot measures and various county and local offices. No governor or US Senate race appears in 2026; both are next scheduled for 2028.
How does Washington's primary work?
Washington uses a top-two primary, scheduled for August 4, 2026. All candidates for an office appear on a single ballot regardless of party, every registered voter can participate, and ballots are mailed to all voters. The two candidates with the most votes advance to the November 3 general election, even if they share the same party. There is no runoff.
Why is the 2026 Washington US House race important?
Washington does not elect a governor in 2026. Governor Bob Ferguson, a Democrat elected in 2024, is not on the ballot again until 2028, which is the race prediction markets are tracking. In 2026, Washington's most consequential contests are its ten US House races, led by the open 4th District and the closely contested 3rd, plus state legislative and state Supreme Court elections.
